America's Promise

A call to action evolved from the 1997 Presidents' Summit for America's Future, and America's Promise was created to meet the challenge. The organization's mission is to mobilize people from all walks of life to fulfill five promises to our children: Caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, marketable skills, and opportunities to serve.

General Colin Powell has long been committed to focusing our nation on the needs of our youth, and has traveled extensively to share his ideals, and offer support.
