Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation

Epidermolysis Bullosa - (EB) is a rare genetic disorder that can affect all ethnic and racial groups. EB is a group of diseases that are characterized by extremely fragile skin, resulting in the formation of burn-like blisters. The wounds are recurrent, open sores that leave disfiguring scars, disabling musculoskeletal deformities, and internal blistering and scarring. Babies born with this disorder are so fragile, that the simple act of holding them can cause blistered skin, and agonizing pain.

This is a life-long disease for which there is currently no cure. Research is the key. The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (BMRF) is dedicated to the support of medical research into Epidermolysis Bullosa -- its causes, the development of treatments, and ultimately, its cure.
