What is collected

This site is a set of static pages. It has no login, no comment system, no shopping basket and no form, so there is nothing here that asks you for information or that could store it in your browser on our behalf.

Two things still exist, and it would be dishonest to describe the site as collecting nothing at all. First, the company that hosts and delivers these pages processes ordinary connection data in order to serve them and to protect the service against abuse: the request, the time, the approximate origin of the connection and the type of browser. That processing belongs to the hosting provider and follows its own terms. Second, if you write to the desk, we hold your email in the mailbox until the exchange is finished, in the same way any correspondence is held.

What is never collected

• No analytics. There is no measurement script on any page of this site, from us or from anyone else.
• No advertising or tracking tags. Nothing here follows you to another site, and nothing builds a profile of what you read.
• No cookie of ours. We set none. The network that delivers the pages may set a purely technical one to protect the service against abuse; it carries no record of what you read here.
• No mailing list. Writing to the desk does not subscribe you to anything, because there is nothing to subscribe to.
• No sale or sharing of correspondence. Your email is used to answer you, and for nothing else.
• No embedded third party media. Images and styles are served from this site itself, so reading a page does not call another company.

Deletion requests

If you have written to the desk and want that correspondence deleted, ask at contact@50ways.org and say which address you wrote from. We will delete the exchange and confirm it. You do not have to give a reason.

If a page on this site mentions you, or something you consider personal to you, write and say so. Since we publish no personal data about readers and name no individuals, this should never arise; if it does, it is a mistake and it will be corrected rather than defended.

Connection data held by the hosting provider is outside our control and is governed by that provider's own retention rules. We can tell you who it is if you ask.
